Gary Mazart

Gary contributes nearly 40 years of legal expertise in the areas of personal, business and charitable planning and administration. Gary co-chairs the firm’s Estate, Gift and Charitable Planning Practice Group and is a founding member of its Elder and Special Needs Law Practice Group. His professional experience accompanied by a close professional relationship with Mimi Washington Starrett and her husband Cliff presents a wonderful opportunity for Gary to serve as Treasurer to the Board of the Foundation. Gary earned his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University (Harpur College) where he was a member of the varsity Track and Field team and served as president of the student government. He continued on scholarship to Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree.Gary has shared his professional expertise in a wide variety of professional, business, civic and charitable organizations, often in leadership roles. He is a founding member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA); a Fellow with the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), and has served as a board member and officer for the national and New Jersey Alzheimer’s Association, the Market Street Mission, dedicated to helping people overcome homelessness, addictions, and disabilities, and Daytop NJ, an evidence-based, trauma-informed residential and out-patient substance and alcohol treatment program. Gary is also an honorary trustee and former chairperson for Community Health Law Project, a not-for-profit legal services corporation serving the indigent, disabled and frail elderly.
