Leadership
As Chairman, Ed brings with him decades of professional and personal leadership experience. Ed earned his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College and continued to Cornell University Law School where he obtained his law degree. Upon finishing law school, Ed has spent his career as a business law attorney with Schenck Price Smith & King, LLP in Morristown, NJ.
As President, Sarah leads the Foundation into one that creates meaningful, impactful partnerships throughout New Jersey. For over two decades, Sarah has advocated for children and adults with varying intellectual and physical abilities, environmental conservation, and historical preservation, while fostering collaborative leadership and community partnerships.
Gary contributes nearly 40 years of legal expertise in the areas of personal, business and charitable planning and administration. Gary co-chairs the firm’s Estate, Gift and Charitable Planning Practice Group and is a founding member of its Elder and Special Needs Law Practice Group.
Elisabeth joins the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation Board with extensive leadership experience in the business sector and nonprofit governance, largely in New Jersey and surrounding areas. Elisabeth received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from Lafayette College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University.
Laura’s entire career has focused on creating sustainable solutions to pressing social issues through sound strategic thinking and business planning. As a Trustee of the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation, she is very excited to bring her experience and expertise to the community that has been her home for the last 35 years.
As Director of Operations, Amy manages the day-to-day activities of the Foundation, including marketing and communications, while implementing policies, goals, and objectives. Her experience in relationship building and strategic planning is valuable as the Foundation grows and expands its outreach throughout Morris County. Amy is passionate and mission-driven, striving to make a difference in her beloved Morris County community.

After a rewarding, 27-year career at the F. M. Kirby Foundation, JoAnn joins the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation as a Grant Specialist, contributing her extensive expertise in grant making and her knowledge of the Morris County nonprofit community.
