JoAnn Tiefau
JoAnn began her nonprofit career at the F.M. Kirby Foundation as a Grants Administrator, Bookkeeper, and Administrative Assistant. She subsequently served as Grants Manager, Program Associate, and Program Officer. JoAnn was instrumental in implementing FMKF’s first grants management system and organizing grantmaking data from the Foundation’s inception. She oversaw the Foundation’s largest funding area, Human Services, as well as Arts, Culture, and Humanities, while staying informed about the news and activities of nearly 250 annual grantee partners across all funding areas. JoAnn worked with several generations of FMKF leadership and mentored many new staff members, always serving as a role model with her unwavering commitment to uplifting the work of the Foundation’s partners.
After a rewarding, 27-year career at the F. M. Kirby Foundation, JoAnn joins the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation as a Grants Specialist, contributing her extensive expertise in grant making and her knowledge of the Morris County nonprofit community.
A lifelong resident of New Jersey, JoAnn has been married to her husband, Mark, for 38 years, and they reside in Hopatcong.
